For the upcoming holiday season I have made a large number of handmade wooden pencil bookmarks personalised and decorated with individual names. This fun little project took a lot longer than I had anticipated, but I am glad to have it finished before the end of November.
These are simple wooden bookmarks, decorated with simple acrylic paint. One each for Bean’s classmates and a few of the children in our extended family.
I like a bookmark for a gift. They are something that, if cared for, will last many years. They are simply decorated in bold colours, and as everyone enjoys a little treasure that bit more when personalised, each of the handmade wooden pencil bookmarks is personalised with the name of the recipient.
I’m not making as many home decor gifts this year, as I think I got my set-up at home mostly as I wanted it last year, and changing fashion trends do not interest me at all. I will be making an ornament set for a dining room tree throughout the year, but that will be an ongoing project. These next few weeks I will be making small family gifts and practical things like pyjama sets, but I wanted to start with this large collection of bookmarks as they were simple but also quite fiddly, and it was a good achievement to cross of the To Do list.
