Sometimes the most perfect projects come from tried and tested traditions that have already stood the test of time. I designed this Argyle Band hat to make the most of a couple of small skeins of Rowan Pure Wool 4-Ply yarn that I had squirrelled away because I loved the play of the two colours.
This hat makes the most of the two colours by combining them in two different patterns and with a few extra little points of detailing which aren’t visible in these pictures but will hopefully come to light when I get a few modelled shots of the hat once the test knit is complete.
This hat has already stood the comfort test as I have worn it at every opportunity since it popped happily off the needles. The warm hat band is snuggly without being bulky, and the hat is warm and light due to the bouncy nature of Rowan Pure Wool 4-ply.
The new pattern will be available soon!
Looking forward to seeing a pattern for this 🙂
I do love those colors combined! Also awesome idea of two different stitch patterns within the same hat. It looks great!
Super cute! I don’t usually enjoy the process of stranded knitting, but an argyle band might be worth trying. Looking forward to seeing all the details and the released pattern! (sjn821 on Rav)
Love this combo of colors as well. I can’t wait to see how the band is knit since it looks folded under. Love it.
