Milky Way Hat: A New Knitting Pattern from Eskimimi Makes
I have a brand new hat pattern published called ‘Milky Way’ in honour of the swirling plumes of lace and twinkling light captured in this easy to knit slouchy hat. I decided to knit this hat as I no longer had my Pamplemousse Hat to rely on for days when my hair just wasn’t interested in being friendly.
I found this yarn with incorporated sparkly thread whilst on a day trip to Black Sheep Wools, and though I thought it merely a bit of fun at first, the finished hat is very soft and comfortable and the sparkle added by the additional metallic thread is subtle.
Of course, if you are not one for sparkly headgear this hat can be knit in any DK weight yarn that knits to the same standard DK tension of 22sts per 10cm/4″.
This hat is available in two sizes; Small/Medium and Large (head circumference 48-55cm/9-22” and 57cm+/23”+) with notes and tips included on how to achieve the right amount of slouch and ease to suit you whilst still maintaining fit.
I know how much I used to adore my last relaxed-fit hat before I lost it. It was a hat that made an opportunity for excellent hat wearing out of every bad hair day, but it also stopped good hair days from getting too squished if I needed a hat for extra warmth, or to stop my hair from blowing in my face on more blustery mornings, so this hat has gone straight to the top of the ‘what to wear today’ pile.
If you are like me and always on the lookout for a quick and easy hat pattern with good results, this pattern would be a perfect one to add to your collection.
