FO: Awesome Videogame Wall Art – Duck Hunt
This great piece of wall art that now sits proudly on our living room wall was conceived and made by Mr Awesome. We’ve had a set of melt beads (brands include Hama Beads and Perler Beads, but these were a bargain from Ikea for a MASSIVE tub for £4.99) for quite a while and have made a few video game icons that hand in little frames in our hallway, but the other day Mr Awesome decided that he was going to make a set of ducks for our wall.
I absolutely adore these because they not only reference a great NES game – Duck Hunt:
but also a wonderfully naff, typically British piece of retro tat – the Beswick Flying Ducks wall plaques that were a ubiquitous part of so many homes in the 60s and 70s:
I have drawn up a few simple charts for the Duck Hunt sprites for any like-minded beaders, knitters or cross stitchers, which are free to download and use.
